Types of Enrichment
There are 5 main enrichment types!
social
Interacting with others!
Social enrichment is vary important and replicates social interactions that animals would face in the wild. Captive animals that live in packs, flocks, or other large groupings should not be housed alone.
Cognitive
Using the brain!
Cognitive enrichment makes an animal think and encourages the usage of there brain. This could be things such as find their own food or providing lockboxes, toys, puzzles, etc.
Food
How to feed the animals!
Animals in captivity should not just be given a bowl of food to eat from. Large carnivores should be fed live prey they have to hunt for, and all animals should have their food spread around there habitat that they have to maneuver around and find!

All five types of enrichment are super important and increase the quality of captive animals lives.
Physical Habitat
Where the animal lives!
A captive animals habitat is extremely important because it is where it lives its entire life. This means it should be large and have whatever the animal needs, trees, branches, dens, climbing areas, etc.
Sensory
The five senses!
Animals need to be given enrichment that makes them use all their senses. This could be things such as rubbing spice paste of walls and branches or providing scratching posts.
